We got our first (and knowing Oregon, last) snow of the season on Tuesday, during class. And of course, as snow in Oregon is such an event, the teacher let us go out and play in it for a couple minutes. Sadly, it was all gone by lunch...
On wednesday, our school's drama club got to have it's first practice in it's normal room in over a month! It was the first time the supervising teacher had actually gotten to see any of it because she'd been sick for the past month, almost.
Thursday was our last day of classes before winter break, and a group of my friends had arranged a "Secret" Santa gift exchange. Of course, we're high school students, so disaster struck and everyone knew who had everyone else a couple weeks before the actual exchange. Oh well! The person who got me gave me these cookies above. They were lemony, nutty, and AMAZINGLY tasty!
On Friday, we got a rice cooker. I have no idea why. We can cook rice in pots. It tastes fine. There's next to no difference between rice from pots and rice from this... but it bugged me and so, here's a story for Friday!
On Saturday, we had frosted Santa-hat cookies. Yum!!!!
The family has been a little behind on the holiday season, so we didn't have time to make a gingerbread house. So on Sunday we went a little bit of an easier route and made a gingerbread christmas tree. The only problem: there is now a large mountain of sugar in the kitchen that I'm not allowed to touch... Darn waiting...
Today, I saw these. Two advent calendars. Two empty advent calendars. If you read my little short story from yesterday, I'm sure you're tired of hearing it but guess what!!! It's christmas eve!
Merry Christmas Everyone! (Or happy whatever-it-is-you-celebrate if you celebrate something else!)
SNOW!!! :D Lucky you. We just have cold here in Georgia, and no snow at all.
ReplyDeleteAnd rice cookers are awesome. Easier than cooking rice on the stove. You just press the button and leave it to cook! I'm taking one with me to college for sure. :P
That gingerbread Christmas tree looks AMAZING. O.O
