As I'm sure most of you are aware, last Tuesday was Christmas! And that means Christmas dinner! The one meal I wait twelve months for! YUM!!!
At just about the last minute, my Dad had decided he wanted a Ukulele for Christmas. My Mom and I went out and tried to get him one before Christmas, but we had no idea what we were looking for, so in the end we decided to all go out and get him one on the day after. So on Wednesday we headed out to a guitar shop on the edge of town (and, based on the traffic, all of Oregon had the same idea) and got him the little Ukulele you see there. The red and black guitar is mine: I've had it for a little over a year, it's there to give some form of scale so you can see just how tiny the Ukulele is.
On Thursday I got an interesting letter in the mail from the University of Oregon. I've been accepted to start college there next year, but this letter came to tell me that, for tuition purposes, I'm not classified as an Oregon resident. Here in the states (as I know a large part of my viewership isn't) colleges charge about twice as much to students that aren't from the state the college is in. I live in Oregon, so I was a little surprised that I'm classified as a non-resident. Of course this will be easy to fix, I just thought it was funny that someone who lives at an Oregon address (and has done for over twelve years) could be classified as not an Oregon resident. Oh well. (This issue has been resolved, and it was not difficult, let us be clear. This was more amusing to me than anything else.)
On Friday, there was a point in time when I found myself with my head upside down, looking in the direction of our Christmas tree, when I noticed something strange. There was a present under it. Which would have made a sense a week before, but Christmas had come and gone since then. I guess we forgot something somehow... It was for my brother, and when he opened the gift it was the above board game. True story.
I was worried I wouldn't have a photo for Saturday: I almost thought I'd have to resort to doing the Instagram thing and taking a picture of one of my meals, which would've been sad (one picture of food a week is more than enough, wouldn't you say?) Then I noticed these. I don't know how long we've had them, where they came from, anything. I just noticed them. NinjaBread Men. It's kinda fun, so here you go.
Having a lot of free time, I've picked up a lot of writings I've been working on, including one that features two main characters who are constantly at odds with one another. These two hats have been the inspiration for the two character's outward appearance. On Sunday, after working on the story for a while, I took to trying to create some artwork to accompany the story, and this was the best (clearly not great, but the best of a bad crop) that I came up with.
This is my calendar. Today, Monday, December 31, it remains in date. At midnight, it becomes out of date. It's New Year's Eve, so HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYBODY!!!! See you next year!
