From the walls of the castle, there are some incredible views. They are simply spectacular. Sadly, I can't share all of the view with you since that would be a lot of photographs (in addition to a lot of photographs already in this post) but I hope you enjoy this taster.
I should mention that this castle has had a history with Chameleons. One time, many years ago, a strangely familiar Chameleon stormed the castle walls here at Bolsover. I wonder why he wanted to storm the castle gates?
Some parts of the castle are in disrepair, but the little castle has remained, for the most part, intact. There are a lot of really cool paintings and designs inside the walls of the little castle. There are a few places where the acoustics are so interesting, you can make a cool echo, and there is a set of mini alcoves where, when you sit down in them, someone else's voice can be heard inside your head, as if it's just a voice you're imagining. It truly is a really cool place.
This part of the castle is a part that had fallen into disrepair. There is no roof, and some of the walls have crumpled away. It's still incredible, though, to look at it and think that nothing more than time brought down this structure, and if it had been maintained, we would have been able to keep it.
This is a picture of one of the lawns inside the castle. I particularly like the tree: I think that it looks like some of the trees I have tried drawing. (don't get excited, I'm not that good an artist)
Finally, this room is called the riding house. In theory, the floor would have been covered in dirt, and horses would have been trotted through it in a noble sport. There is quite a lot of space in here. It would have been incredible to see it used for what it was intended, but at least we got to actually see the room!
I really do want to hear what people think about these posts, so if you see them, please comment away with your gmail account. Compliments, comments, criticisms, I want to hear and see it!
